School Changes

Who has input in making changes?

All school constituents. Parents, Teachers, Staff, and Students.

When and how are students involved in decisions?

Students can: run to be on Cabinet, school representatives, or they can go to Cabinet meetings as a guest.

How do students submit an issue to cabinet?

They may voice it to their crew adviser, bring it up specifically to a cabinet member for their grade, or fill out the form outside Principal Pierce's office.

Is going to cabinet the most effective way for a student to voice an issue?

No, students can also go to school meeting.

What is the Cabinet's process for addressing an issue?

  • Upon receiving a proposal, the cabinet assesses it, and votes on whether it needs more research from the origin.

  • Student Proposals that pass from the Cabinet will be presented at the School meeting. The cabinet has the discretion to ask for more feedback where the issue will then be discussed by all crews at a designated time. The conclusions will be forwarded to the Cabinet after evaluation.

  • Proposals will be addressed by level of immediacy that is decided by the Cabinet Chair - Principal.

  • To approve a proposal there will be a voting day by the Membership on the Cabinet - 2 staff, the student chair, 10 students, and potentially several parent reps. All of these meetings are open for anyone to attend; guests may participate but not vote.
